Iraqi Popular Forces hit ISIS targets at Syria Border

The Iraqi Hashid al-Shaabi announced in a statement that its artillery units shelled the fixed positions of ISIS militants near the border with Syria on Monday morning, Alforat News reported.

The statement said the shells accurately hit the targets and inflicted heavy losses on the terrorists.

ISIS militants made swift advances in northern and western Iraq over the summer of 2014, after capturing swaths of northern Syria.

In November 2017, the self-proclaimed caliphate of ISIS collapsed after Syrian and Iraqi armed forces and their allies managed to recapture the terror group’s last strongholds in the two Arab countries.
