Thousands Gather in Al-Aqsa Mosque on Ramadan’s Last Friday

Thousands of Palestinians traveled to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem on Friday, to perform prayers on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Israeli authorities eased entry of Palestinians to Jerusalem on Ramadan Fridays only allowing women of all ages and men above 40 years of age or under 12 years to reach the occupied city without a permit, WAFA reported.

Palestinians started reaching Israeli military checkpoints surrounding the holy city since the early hours of Friday to secure a place at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Jordan-run Islamic Awqaf, in charge of running the mosque, said over 280,000 people attended the Friday prayers.
